The Plates Restaurant gets its name from the extensive collection of interesting wall plates from all over the world. The food is expertly prepared by rhodesian born Ian Jenkinson who is famous for his wide variety of special sauces and fine wines.

 

You will find a wide selection of dishes - from traditional homemade pies like Steak and Kidney or Hot Game, mediterranean favourites like Lasagne and Moussaka to Ian's specialities known as layers.



Layers come highly recommeded and here are just two examples:

Chicken Stilton - sliced breast layered with mature stilton, subtly BBQ sauce, crushed ginger, onions and topped with bacon and chives

Beef Mombie - thin slices of best beef layered with creamy horseradish relish, crushed garlic, onion, chives and topped with peppers

A selection of vegetarian dishes and cold salads is also available.
Finish your dinner off with one of our famous Salmonby Fruit Crumbles, a tasty gateau or some scrummy ice-cream.

Freshly cooked Fish & Chips is served every Friday and a traditional roast lunch on Sunday. Local newspapers will keep you informed of the Speciality Nights: Game Night, Stuffed Chine Night, Bangers and Mash Night...
